Dafaa (com.majal.dafaa) is published by Majal. This page explains what information the app handles, where it is kept, and why.

In short

• No account, no password, no ads.
• Your name, progress and saved items stay on your phone only.
• We never sell information or share it for advertising.

What stays on your phone only

The name you type so the app can greet you, your year and stream, your progress through units, items you mark for review, your daily-review streak and your weekly planner. None of this is sent to us or to anyone else, and all of it is deleted when you uninstall the app.

What is sent to our servers

Notifications (if you allow them): our server stores your phone's push-notification token together with your school year, stream and platform (Android), so we only send you notifications for your level (a new unit, a live-session time). Your name is not sent. If you refuse or turn off notifications, nothing is stored, and you can ask us to delete the token by writing to us.

Downloading content: when you download a unit, a simulation or a PDF, the app connects to our servers (hosted by Supabase) and to Google Drive to fetch the files. As with any internet connection, these servers receive technical information such as your IP address; we do not use it to identify you.

Camera

The camera is used only to scan QR codes printed in the magazines. The image is read on the phone and is never stored or sent.

Protection against modified copies

The app uses the freeRASP library by Talsec to check that it is a genuine, unmodified copy running on a device that has not been compromised. It sends Talsec technical information about the device and any threats detected, never your name or your study content. See Talsec's privacy policy.

Other services

• Notifications are delivered through Expo and Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Videos are shown from YouTube; when you play one, Google's privacy policy applies.
• Live-session links open in their own apps (such as YouTube or Google Meet) and are subject to their policies.

Children

The app is intended for secondary-school students and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information about any user.

Deleting your data

• Everything on your phone: uninstall the app, or clear its data in your phone's settings.
• The notification token on our server: write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its update date.
